February 3rd week 09

No one is going to give you anything. Success in poker isn't something just given, its earned. Its fought for.. Every ounce, every penny, every pot, every buy in. Is scraped from the walls of the game. There is nothing given, every pot is fought for. Dragging them in, tooth and nail, kicking and screaming. Its is a war of attrition. Through randomness in which the slightest edge. Which is pushed and pulled over the reigns of aggression. To squeeze the slightest bit of equity out of the opposition. Is fought for over. Every pot won is another inch up the mountain. While every loss is a massive stumble backwards. Every mistake made is tenfold to every mistake not made. In the words of Roy Cooke "The recurring sum of volume times the net edge equals expectation". If you ever get a free bee be grateful. When some poor soul decides to ship you his stack of chips. Take them and be grateful.
Focus, patience, multi level thinking, mathematical understanding of poker related instances, range, equity. Being able to start fresh in a hand and yet at the same time letting the flow of the match add info that correlates to the current hand through process of elimination. "The metagame", These are all important subjects that are needed for one to be able to understand and be able to win at poker.

Just finished 100k hands at nl10 but I have not achieved the winrate I think I need to prove I am a solid winning player vs just a winning player. I am not sure what my leak is in my game but I am only running at +2/100 in standard bb's over 100k. This translates to $200 profit not including cash back reward bonuses playing at nl10. This particular week I was almost to $200 profit when I started playing stupid. Took a shot at a limit over my head and then burned off the rest of profit for the week 8 tabling nl100. Either way I am still a ways off from the mark I wanted to hit before I take another shot at nl25. But maybe I need to spend some more time at nl10 trying to figure out what the heck I am doing wrong.

Depending on when the baby gets here I will probably have in the vicinity of $300 plus in cash back bonuses and deposit bonus by the end of the week after next. I am kinda liking the tune of spending another 100K hands at nl10 just to see if I can figure out WTF! On a positive note I don't really spend much time looking at my balance anymore on a regular basis. Instead I have adopted refreshing my graph on HM.
