"I'm a lead farmer Motherfucka!"
Well the first month is over for my multi-tabling tour DE micro stakes. And although it has so far been positive there was definitely some things I could and would have changed. A lot of things became a lot clearer. And several bad habits shown there ugly head enough times to help me stop doing them. I rolled in somewhere around 50K-70K hands with an unknown amount I tallied during the first week of the month playing .01-.02 stakes. I managed to keep my silver star status. Not that it was a goal for me at this time. I also revamped my bankroll requirements which at this time I think will be a good idea for me to stay at .02-.05 until my roll reaches the $875 mark. I am not sure if this mark will be reached by the end of Sept or not. All I can hope is that I have the patience not to jump bankroll and dig a hole for myself as I did this month. Also my poker tracker is working again FINALLY!. This is a big relief for to as I have been severely missing the option to go back and review my big hand losses during my sessions to hopefully plug some leaks in my game.
I haven't managed to hit any open ended straight flush draws yet and am somewhere around 0 for 8. These have cause some of the bigger session losses. Probably being second to me getting set over set ted more times than a hot hooker getting action at the Golden Nugget. I still think and during %75 of the time I was set over set ted that I should be able to fold here. I still get the feeling or when the villain hits there over card giving them a higher set. That they just got there, and I mainly call due to the books saying that's just the way it goes. I think the books are wrong here. Maybe the percentage of times my opponents will be floating me or betting missed draws will go up as I move up stakes but at the moment it appears to be running %95 of the time they have it.
My main problems at this level were betting to much with top kicker. When the board was say 5c7c9h. I would bet and I don't think there was a time that a draw didn't hit and I had to fold anyway. It was ridiculous to say the least. Also the amount of times I tried to slow play a straight or boat seemed to get me in trouble. Trying to slow play top set got me in trouble a couple times where I ended up having to fold or pay off a higher set. Moral of the story as I already know is never slow play. Also just paying off when a flush hit after a check call was pretty much retarded. It appeared that no matter what the bet if they were on a flush draw they were not folding. Also vary rarely would anyone else be semi bluffing with flushes and straight draws. I think the instances were very small and a lot of my big pots won with flush draws were ones that I semi bluffed into. Rather than the more obvious check calling then betting into or check raising.
I took a few shots at .05-.10 and did OK and I got bored and lost some money at .10-.25 during two sessions. I think I could play at .05-.10 and do OK but I would like to see and sustain a solid winning session over 100K hands. Also this would give me some extra time to pad my bankroll into the 75 full buy in area for that next level plus winnings from this level. Also one of the big cardinal rules that is a basic rule that is easier to say than follow. RAISE! RAISE! RAISE!, Fuck that calling shit. This next month I will continue to try and eradicate that weakness from my play. It's OK to raise or re raise only to fold to a push. Just the whole calling thing with what should be the winning hand only to find that the turn or river two paired them or caused the pot to be chopped when you would have won. Whatever STOP CALLING!
I think I should be able to extract my first cash bonus this month. I don't think I will see that benefit of this any time soon or at least until I'm running at the 200nl level and 12+ tabling.
So basically while only running 61,675 hands not including the .01-.02 level hands. And with a bankroll starting at $75 and now ending at $461. I feel this month has been a big success. Not only for my playing, my bankroll but also my confidence. By multi-tabling I have been able to see so many more hands and watch the variance roll out a lot quicker. I think this has been the biggest help to my game. Allowing me to fold more waiting for better opportunities to pick spots. Giving me more patience which has reinforced my own ability to be able to fold hands rather than pay off the villain when my big hands get cracked. With the whole point of full ring becoming clearer that its OK to wait regardless of how silly sometimes it seems to fold. Obviously there is a lot of opportunity being missed on bad folds but the winning is consistent. And that is nice finally for a change. So onward toward next month.
